Q1. How and when did you start your Entrepreneur Journey to serve in the Wedding industry? What inspired you to start your own business?

I started freelancing soon after completing my Post Graduate Diploma in Fashion Designing back in 2014. I then worked with a well known Indian designer for a year and a month of internship with them back in 2015-2016 and then decided to launch my own brand in 2016. The reason for me to get into this field was me being obese in my school days and
not getting anything of my choice to wear. I wanted to spread smiles on people's faces by being able to wear outfits of their choice and liking it irrespective of their shapes or sizes, age or colour.

Q2. Kindly describe more about your business, your role, products/services.

Being in this industry for the past 8 years, I've been blessed to be able to serve around 11-12 countries till date. Having started with the Indian outfits at first, I gradually evolved to catering to Indo Western and Bridal outfits as well. Since the past 5 years, I've also been serving my clients to wear Western outfits since not all my clients abroad get a chance to wear Indian or Indo Western outfits. I also provide free styling services to my clients who get their outfits designed by me.

Q3. Please share about the unique feature/specialty/USP of your Product/Service.

Ever since I started, I made sure to cater to only premium quality products thus the fabrics that I use are all either imported or high-end fabrics which thus provide my clients to be extremely satisfied and find value for money along with being fashionable and trendy.

Q4. How would you explain the importance of your role in a Wedding?

Well in all weddings, brides need to look their best and we at "Sew You" make sure to make that day of the bride most memorable by designing her dream outfit and making her look like a princess and shine on her most important day. And we also cater to all the women in the families from both the bride and groom's side, be it their moms, nieces, sisters, friends, relatives or their aunts, we design outfits for each one of them and also provide Theme based designing for both the brides as well as the women from the wedding houses.

Q5. What are the most common challenges you face at the wedding you are handling?

When brides do not come well in advance and wish to get heavy bridal outfits customized in a short span of time. Apart from the brides, when the women of the wedding house want to get themed outfits designed be it the same print or colour or style, getting everyone to agree on the same page is a bit of a task.

Q6. How do you deal with these challenges?

When we talk to our brides once they reach out to us, we tell them the amount of time that shall be required to get their outfits ready and that's how we start discussing the outfits based on their needs and requirements and start shortlisting various aspects before starting to design their outfit. This process saves a lot of hassle for the brides as well as for us once we start to work on their filtered needs.

As far as the women in a wedding house are concerned, we make sure to understand their body structures, colour preferences as well as their skin type to make sure that they aren't allergic to any fabrics. If there are any theme based outfits that need to be made for a couple of women in the same wedding, we make sure to understand everyone's preferences and make designs along with colours and work that are adaptable by them all!

Q7. Could you share one of your most unique creations/experience for/of a wedding?

I had a bride who lives in New Zealand and when she contacted me she was highly confused and had all the possible bridal jitters which she couldn't really articulate well enough. She started explaining all the different functions that were to be held in her big fat Punjabi wedding which was to take place in Delhi, India. I started listing down whatever
she spoke and once I had everything written and filtered after my consultation session with her, I started explaining what exactly would look good on her. While on a video call with this bride, she got so excited and that smile and happiness on her face was enough to make the whole process wonderful.

Finally when she saw her bridal outfit which had birds embroidered on it since it signified how much she loved birds and that she wanted it to be an important part of her wedding, the glow and happiness on her face with tears of joy in her eyes are something that my creativity seeked. Nothing could have made me happier than seeing my client and most
importantly a bride so happy for her most special day. That sure is one memory I'm never going to forget.

Q8. What type of collaborations would you like to explore in future?

Would love to collaborate with Multi Designer Stores and Wedding Planners PAN India as well as abroad, something that I already am connected with in India as well as tied up recently with two multi designer stores as well. I also want to have flagship stores all across apart from my bridal clients from all over the world.

Q9. What is your vision for the next five years?

I would like to be a part of a couple of flagship stores all over the world, have a long list of happy brides, wedding houses as well as expand and be able to serve many more countries that I haven't done so far along with the current 12 countries that I'm already serving.

Q10. What would you advise new entrepreneurs who want to start & sustain in the business?

It's never too late to make a new start and whenever you do, consider it the right time! One sure will face hardships and would have to walk on rocky paths but to stay strong and fight all the challenges is what makes you stronger and helps you make wise decisions.
